About Network Safety

Our Mission:

Our mission is to support organisations in eliminating serious injuries and fatalities through expert, award winning safety consultancy. We are committed to identifying and addressing critical risks, fostering a culture of accountability, and implementing practical, evidence-based solutions that protect both lives and livelihoods. By preventing high-consequence incidents, we not only safeguard the wellbeing of people but also help preserve the integrity and reputation of the organisations we serve.

Our Vision:

Our vision is to reshape the way organisations think about safety — shifting focus from the appearance of safety to the reality of protecting people. With decades of frontline experience, we’ve seen firsthand how safety efforts often get lost in paperwork, processes, and performance metrics. We exist to change that. Our goal is to help organisations focus on what truly matters: understanding work as it’s done, identifying what can seriously harm or kill, and taking meaningful action to prevent it. We aim to be a trusted voice for practical, human-centred safety — where real risks are tackled, and real lives are protected.

Alan Trueman CMIOSH

Award-Winning Safety Leader | Founder of SHiFT | STCKY Risk Strategist

Alan Trueman is a nationally recognised leader in Safety, Health & Environment, known for transforming how organisations think about—and act on—serious risk. Voted the Most Influential Person in UK Health & Safety by SHP in 2022, Alan’s work has shaped industries from telecoms to utilities.

He is the founder of the SHiFT Group, the UK fibre sector’s first cross-industry safety alliance, now recognised by OFCOM, HSE, and DCMS. Whether leading a team of 50 safety professionals at CityFibre, launching national safety standards, or driving major incident learning, Alan consistently combines behavioural insight with operational rigour to save lives and build resilience.

Described as “a true ambassador for his field”, Alan brings energy, empathy, and strategic clarity to every project he touches.
